Irish Independent 4th May 1916 (8-Day edition 26,27,28,29 April 1,2,3,4 May) Page 2 - Includes strong editorial on:

"CRIMINAL MADNESS - No terms of denunciation the pen would indite would be too strong to apply to the insane and criminal rising of last week" the editorial lays considerable blame on the unchecked activities and build up of arms by of Edward Carson and the UVF, which contributed to the corresponding counter movement in the south, and blames Mr Birrell the Chief Secretary and head of government in Ireland for tolerating the gun running. After a long tirade, it concludes "yet the "Rising" was in a mere matter of hours , a miserable fiasco, leaving behind its trail of woe and horror. Let the moral not be lost on us or upon our rulers. Let us, in God's name, be done with revolution in Ireland, whatever be its guise or pretext".

This remarkable reproduction captures all the detail of the original on 210 gsm Satin Art paper and is set on a mottled green suede background behind glass in an antique style Gold Leaf frame.
