County Galway - Townland Survey of the County of Galway (1841) - A stunning Ordnance Survey Map of County Galway first published in 1841, on a globally unprecedented scale of six inches to one mile, stretches along the entire massive and wild coastline from Galway Bay to Killary Harbour, and along the borders with the counties of Mayo, Roscommon, Offaly ("Kings County"), Tipperary and Clare .Incorporating remarkable detail from within all of the parishes in the areas of Tiaquin, Moycullen , Loughrea, Clonmacnowen, Aran (Islands),Dunkellin, Kilconnell, Killian, Dunmore, Clare, Leitrim, Kiltartan, Athenry, Ballymoe, Ballynahinch, Longford, Ross,and Galway, the map also includes fine detail of the Corrib , Mask and Derg lakes and their many islands .
